Boston Convention & Exhibition Center   Cost: $338,000,000
Boston, Massachusetts    Completion: 2004
Architect: HNTB / Rafael Viñoly Architects

As of April 2004, this project is complete.  The project comprises approximately 2,100,000 square feet with  exhibit halls that total 600,000 square feet, a 50,000 square foot ballroom, a junior ballroom of 25,000 square feet and 30  meeting rooms totaling 160,000 square feet.    McCleskey Consulting's role is that of a consultant to the MEP Engineer-of-record, R.G.Vanderweil Engineers.  There were challenges to the design of MEP systems resulting from the physical dimensions of the building.  Each of the three 200,000 square foot exhibit halls is 320 feet by 600 feet with ceiling heights up to 100 feet.  The distribution of exhibitor utilities is complicated by long distances.  Lighting and overhead exhibitor utilities are complicated by the height.  Add to that, poor soil conditions and the complexity increased still further.                                             Photographer:  Brad Feinknopf
