The Ontario Convention Center is part of the community’s development of civic projects. The airport, located just a few blocks away, makes the convention center very attractive for out of town conventioneers. A new sports area is also being planned. The center is approximately 252,000 square feet. The exhibit hall is 70,000 square feet, the ballroom is 20,000 square feet, and another 20,000 square feet is meeting rooms. They are supported by prefunction space, a truck dock and a kitchen. The exhibit hall and meeting rooms have been designed to be expanded by 50 percent. The project used a design/build delivery method that provided for bidding the subcontractor work.
