Palm Springs Convention Center Cost: $10,000,000
Palm Springs, California   Completion: 1991
Architect: Ellerbe - Becket

The first step of a planned expansion was an addition of 27,000 square feet to the existing exhibit hall and 7,650 square feet to back-of-house spaces. The existing facility incorporated an electric centrifugal chiller and an ice harvesting thermal storage unit into the central plant. A gas-fired chiller was added in this expansion so they could avoid peak demand charges in the summer time.
