Sacramento Convention Center Expansion Cost: $45,000,000
Sacramento, California   Completion: 1993
Architect: LMN Architects/Vitiello & Associates

The Sacramento Community Convention Center Expansion added 245,000 square feet to the existing facility. The original construction comprised an exhibit hall with a nearby Activities Building. Only a service corridor connected the Activities Building to the Exhibit Hall. The expansion project integrated the existing structures with the new by adding prefunction space and lobbies to wrap around the exhibit hall. The exhibit hall was increased by 85,000 square feet. A 25,000 square foot ballroom and meeting rooms were added above the expanded exhibit hall. Below grade, a chiller plant, storage room and electrical vault were added and connected to the existing mechanical plant.                                                (Photo courtesy of Len Zerrilli)
